University Students

Warmly welcomed by local professors, YWAM Linkou has served local and foreign students studying at local universities for many years. We are grateful that being an international community has granted us open doors to share cultural and language learning opportunities with students. We hope students will gain a broader perspective and an expanded worldview through our interactions with them. 

Youth Work

Linkou is a district known for its academic excellence and educational opportunities. YWAM volunteers serve young people, Taiwanese and internationals alike, as mentors and sports coaches. During advisory sessions, students are given a safe place to process present life situations and are guided to make healthy, wise choices. Sports are also a way for us to connect with young people. Through these sports coaching sessions, character values and skills are imparted beyond the techniques of the game. It has been so rewarding to walk with these leaders of tomorrow. 

Children Work

YWAM has been invited to lead a music session with elementary learners in Taipei once a week. Impacting children requires us to think outside of the box, as they cannot always express what they think or feel in words. As such, music is a tool we use to help children connect with their thoughts and emotions. Accompanied by stories depicting strong morals and values, we hope that children can identify with the characters in these stories and be encouraged through them. 

Homeless Shelter

YWAM partners with a homeless shelter in our area. In this shelter, the homeless are rehabilitated to society and do not stay here indefinitely. We believe that this is a healthy model of helping those in need as it boosts their self-worth and enables them to see that they can create a promising future for themselves. YWAM is dedicated to helping create a comfortable living space in the shelter and continually explores different ways to pour into the lives of residents there.

YWAM Cafe

YWAM opens its doors to the community and invites people of any age and background to our events. Our activities include cultural exchange, language exchange, music nights, and more. These events have allowed us to befriend the local community in a natural setting, allowing conversations to occur in a safe space. We found that our visitors are often intrigued by our international culture and desire to hear more about different life experiences.

Partnership with Churches

YWAM is a trusted partner of many local churches in Taiwan. YWAM's training and services are sought after by the church as we have the resources to benefit their members. Taiwanese from different walks of life frequent these churches, and we are grateful to be able to be able to serve them through these partnerships with local church leaders.

Community Music Night

YWAM welcomes the local community onto our premises every Wednesday night for a music gathering. People of any age or from all walks of life are welcome to this event. We hope to create a relaxing space where people can unwind from life's stresses through music. It is also a safe place for conversation, where people can find a listening ear and gain insight into others' sharing.
